Yes, you heard right.

Steven J. Allen, creator/writer of "The Gentleman from Lickskillet" (with artist Kevin Tuma), has been named editor of Tea Party Review magazine.

Dr. Allen has been a journalist for 38 years.  Among his many jobs: news reporter for WDNG radio, news director at WHMA AM & FM, correspondent for the Birmingham Post-Herald and the Birmingham News, state press secretary for the Reagan for President campaign, reporter for the Fort Payne (Ala.) Times-Journal and the Northeast Alabamian, press secretary for U.S. Senator Jeremiah Denton (chairman of the Subcommittee on Security & Terrorism), senior editor and assistant to the publisher of Conservative Digest magazine, author of A Populist Conservative Platform for the '80s, writer/producer of Whose Side Are They On? (reputedly the first political infomercial), press secretary/issues director for candidates for lieutenant governor of Virginia and U.S. Congress, author of the Ramada Inn Accord, co-author with Richard Viguerie of a weekly newspaper column, co-author of Lip Service: George Bush's 30-Year Battle with Conservatives, editor of the Internet Political Report, writer for CNET's News.com, editor of The Senior American newsletter, author of Violation of Trust: Whatever Happened to the Social Security Trust Funds?, vice president for communications of the Progress & Freedom Foundation and editor of its many publications (including a major paper by President Clinton's Internet czar), author of chapters on political communications in two textbooks, ghostwriter of several books and countless op-eds, creator/writer of such Web sites as TheRealGore.com and BushRunningMate.com, and co-author of op-eds for such publications as The New York Times, Newsday, The Washington Times, and The Washington Examiner.  Plus, creator of "The Gentleman from Lickskillet."
